Terms of Service

1. What Skin Appraisal is

Skin Appraisal is an informational tool for Counter-Strike 2 ("CS2") in-game cosmetic items, including weapon skins, knives, gloves, charms, stickers, patches, and related catalog items. The Service helps users explore market-reference prices, pattern-aware premiums, float adjustments, attachment values, and related estimates based on third-party market data and rules we maintain.

The Service is for reference and education only. We do not buy, sell, broker, escrow, or take custody of virtual items. We are not a marketplace, exchange, wallet, or financial adviser.

2. No affiliation with Valve or Steam

Skin Appraisal is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or approved by Valve Corporation, Steam, or any related entity. Counter-Strike, CS2, Steam, and related names, logos, and assets are trademarks or copyrights of their respective owners. Item images and metadata may be displayed for identification purposes under common community and platform conventions; we claim no ownership of Valve's intellectual property.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction to use online services, to use the Service. If you are under 18, you should use the Service only with permission from a parent or legal guardian. The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

4. Estimates, not guarantees

All prices, appraisals, liquidity estimates, sell-time ranges, pattern tiers, premium multipliers, and other outputs shown on the Service are estimates only. They are derived from market data, heuristics, community trading conventions, and our own models, which may be incomplete, delayed, outdated, or wrong.

• An estimate is not an offer to buy or sell, a guarantee of future price, or advice to trade.
• Actual transaction prices depend on platform, buyer, seller, timing, fees, currency, item condition, pattern desirability, and many factors we do not control.
• Pattern premiums, charm color tiers, fade percentages, Case Hardened blue rankings, and similar labels reflect community and model-based classifications, not official Valve designations.
• Market data and listing depth can change rapidly; a result shown now may not reflect the market minutes later.

You are solely responsible for any trading, purchasing, selling, or financial decision you make using information from the Service.

5. Currency display

Prices may be shown in a currency you select for convenience. Underlying valuations are generally derived from USD market references and converted using exchange rates we or our providers supply. Converted amounts are approximate and may not match prices on third-party marketplaces that quote in other currencies.

6. Accounts and local data

The Service does not require a Skin Appraisal account or Steam login to use core features. Certain preferences and saved appraisals may be stored locally in your browser (for example, currency choice, bookmarked appraisals, and recent search history). That data stays on your device unless you clear it. We do not operate a cloud save or account recovery system for browser-stored bookmarks.

7. Shared appraisals and public activity feed

When you complete an appraisal, we may store a limited snapshot of that appraisal on our servers so you can share a link and so recent activity can appear in public feeds on the Service. Shared snapshots typically include item labels, estimate amounts, wear and pattern details you entered, timestamps, and related display metadata—not your Steam account or inventory credentials.

By using the Service to generate an appraisal, you understand that shared or feed-visible results may be viewed by other users. Do not submit information you are not comfortable having processed and, where applicable, displayed publicly.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service unlawfully or in violation of applicable third-party terms, including Valve's and marketplace rules.
• Scrape, crawl, harvest, or bulk-download content, prices, or appraisal outputs except through interfaces we expressly permit.
• Attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service or circumvent rate limits, access controls, or security measures.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code, models, or proprietary valuation logic except where prohibited restrictions do not apply by law.
• Misrepresent the Service, our estimates, or affiliation with Valve, Steam, or any marketplace.
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service, its infrastructure, or other users' access.

We may suspend or block access, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or pose a risk to the Service or others.

9. Third-party services and data

The Service relies on third-party sources for market pricing, catalog metadata, currency rates, hosting, content delivery, and item imagery (including Steam community asset URLs). We do not control third-party services and are not responsible for their availability, accuracy, policies, or conduct. Links to external sites are provided for convenience and do not imply endorsement.

10. Intellectual property

The Service, including its design, code, branding, guides, valuation methodology, and original content, is owned by us or our licensors and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes unless we agree otherwise in writing.

You may share links to appraisals and screenshots of results for personal or community use, but you may not republish substantial portions of our catalog, price database, or valuation outputs as a competing commercial product without permission.

11. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, SECURE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS, OR THAT ESTIMATES WILL MATCH ANY PARTICULAR MARKET OUTCOME.

12. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SKIN APPRAISAL AND ITS OPERATORS, AFFILIATES, AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, ITEM VALUE, TRADING OPPORTUNITY, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) USD $100 OR (B) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US TO USE THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM. BECAUSE THE SERVICE IS CURRENTLY OFFERED WITHOUT CHARGE TO USERS, CLAUSE (B) WILL OFTEN BE ZERO.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability; in those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

13. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Skin Appraisal and its operators from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

14. Changes to the Service and Terms

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes may also be noted on the Service where practicable. Continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence require otherwise.

Except where prohibited, you agree that disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to personal jurisdiction there.

16. General

If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
